Blogging Forgottonia

Musings from the hinterlands

About

Who is Matthew Weidman?

I grew up in Peoria, IL and spent the first 17+ years of my life there.  I then spent many years in St. Louis educating myself, meeting my wife & starting a family.  From 2006 to 2009, I lived in Pekin, but a new job brings me to the land of Forgottonia.

I hadn’t spent much time in this part of Illinois until I took the job here, but I do have a familial connection – my parents met at Knox College.  I guess you might say that I owe my existence to Old Siwash, but perhaps that’s not something I should admit while living in Monmouth!

I’m a pediatrician at OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth, IL.  I’m the father of five wonderful & unique girls.  I’m a proud nerd – a fan of science & science fiction, swords & sorcery and other geekery.  Finally, I like expressing my opinion about anything & everything, so that’s why I blog.

My first foray into blogging was A Knight in Dragonland, but my old theme doesn’t work so well here.  Thus, Blogging Forgottonia is born.
